Rautner advises Cleantech Investor EIT InnoEnergy

Rautner Rechtsanwälte advised Europe’s largest cleantech investor EIT InnoEnergy in connection with a EUR 3.9 million financing of ecop Technologies. ecop intends to use the funds in particular to set up series production for its rotary heat pump.

Bernhard Adler, founder and managing director of ecop Technologies, comments: “The generation of process heat for use in complex industrial manufacturing processes is not only a real ‘climate killer’, the costs for companies are also getting out of control. In addition, there is concern about an imminent stop in the supply of natural gas from Russia. All of this means that more and more companies are looking for alternatives to fossil fuels. Our high temperature industrial heat pump is just that – a better alternative. Because it is optimized to convert industrial waste heat into process heat in the high-temperature range, which is required in many of the most energy-intensive manufacturing processes, in a climate-neutral and cost-saving manner.

EIT InnoEnergy is one of the leading innovation drivers for the energy transition. Recognized in 2020 as the world’s most active energy investor and as one of the largest investors in climate-friendly technologies (Climate Tech) and renewable energy technologies, EIT InnoEnergy supports innovations in a wide range of areas – including energy storage, transport and mobility, renewable energies and sustainable energy buildings and cities. EIT InnoEnergy was founded in 2010 and is supported by the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT).

The transaction was managed on the Rautner side by Dr. Uwe Rautner, LL.M. (LSE) and Mag. René Semmelweis LL.M. (WU).
