Georg Winter Takes Up Property Law Lectureship at SFU

We are delighted to announce that our associate lawyer Georg Winter, LL.M. has taken up a lectureship in Property Law at Sigmund Freud Private University (SFU) from this semester. Georg’s practice focuses on domestic and cross-border financing transactions as well as financial regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy project financings. He has also co-authored publications on energy-law topics together with the firm’s name partner, Dr Uwe Rautner.

At first glance, a teaching role in property law may seem only loosely connected to Banking & Finance. In practice, however, property-law issues are often a key building block in project finance transactions: the way an asset is classified under property law can be decisive for how it can be secured. Georg’s lectureship therefore reflects one of his standout strengths—bringing doctrinal precision to civil-law fundamentals while keeping a sharp focus on practical outcomes. It is exactly this combination that benefits our clients when structuring and securing complex projects.

We warmly congratulate Georg and wish him every success in his teaching at SFU.
